Glen Lochay, Scottish Highlands

The Ripa Gar Foundation wishes to allow ecosystems to develop, and native woodland to expand in benefit of all species.

In 2019, the Foundation was launched at Glen Lochay in the Scottish Highlands.

The foundation was founded on the initiative and with the funds of Heinz M. Buhofer. As a private individual and entrepreneur, he has always been committed to environmental interests and, in particular, to ensure that business interests are in harmony with the interests of nature. In his understanding, people have lost consciousness in their bustle, just being a small part of nature.

In a small piece of the world, the foundation is intended to be a vivid example of an alternative perspective. A perspective that gives nature its own value, regardless of whether or not people perceive it. The aim is to achieve a harmony of nature, a balance created by the self, in which man is increasingly only a modest, silent guest - a guest who, in this piece of the world, exercises himself in the ability to contain his urge to intervene and to stage himself.
